Is it your first time visÂitÂing VierÂdaagseÂfeesten? No worÂries, we’ve got you covÂered. Here is our advice with everyÂthing you need to know about the best sevÂen days of the year!
1. DownÂload the app
Our VierÂdaagseÂfeesten app, which is also availÂable in EngÂlish, dependÂing on the setÂtings of your phone. CreÂate your own time scedÂule and share it with your friends. On the map, you can also find a numÂber of our foodtrucks. Or you can eat at one of the local restauÂrants, there is plenÂty of food on offer and you don’t have to make any reserÂvaÂtions. On the map, you also find toiÂlets, water taps, police, first aid and everyÂthing you need. When it’s overÂly crowdÂed, we actiÂvate a crowd trackÂer. If you share your locaÂtion, you can see it on the map and it helps you find a quiÂeter spot. You can choose to receive push notiÂfiÂcaÂtions so you won’t miss imporÂtant updates.
2. Buy a wristband
It is not obligÂaÂtory, but if you come and parÂty for sevÂerÂal days, it will come in handy to buy a wristÂband. It gives you free access to all toiÂlet facilÂiÂties for the full 7 days, and every day a difÂferÂent, excluÂsive event to join.
3. Return your cup to the bar
You don’t need to buy tokens anyÂwhere, you pay with your bank card at the bar. Not every bar accepts cash. When you buy your first drink, you pay a one-time conÂtriÂbuÂtion of €0.50 as an enviÂronÂmenÂtal conÂtriÂbuÂtion for the cup. For each subÂseÂquent order, you only pay the conÂsumpÂtion price when returnÂing your used cup. The same cups will be used throughÂout the city, recÂogÂnizÂable by the VierÂdaagseÂfeesten logo in the borÂder. You can exchange your cup for a new one at an outÂdoor bar or terÂrace. We ask you to bring your last cup to the bar as well, so we can recyÂcle them to new ones. So please do and help to reach our susÂtainÂabilÂiÂty goals! Cups canÂnot be exchanged for money.
4. Don’t bring your own booze
A huge fesÂtiÂval with over 1000 acts, and all of that for free! That has to be payed for someÂhow. And it is, by you — buyÂing your drinks at the bar. On averÂage, you pay 20 cents extra for your drink, comÂpared to a regÂuÂlar night out. If you buy 5 drinks per night, it means that you have all these perÂforÂmances for just one euro! It is forÂbidÂden to bring your own food and drinks. SecuÂriÂty and staff at the stages have the right to search you and obtain your bring-your-owns. That’s how we hope to keep organÂisÂing this free fesÂtiÂval for a long, long time!
5. VisÂit the city on time
It is easÂiÂest to reach us on foot or by bicyÂcle. Places to park your bike, you find on the map. The first stages start hostÂing shows at noon. One third of the stages host perÂforÂmances in the afterÂnoon, not just for kids! On SatÂurÂday at 4 p.m., we host an openÂing event, on 22 stages at the same time. Hope to see you there!
6. Get an entrance tickÂet for speÂcial shows
All shows on the outÂside stages of VierÂdaagseÂfeesten are for free. Just for the few stages indoors, you need a tickÂet, like Stevenskerk Live, where you can also go abseilÂing. The city tours are free to join, but if you want to secure your spot, make a reservation.
Have a wonÂderÂful week!
