Walk along during the Pride Walk on Pink Wednesday 2022

The Pink Wednesday Foundation is organizing a Pride Walk in the center of Nijmegen again this year on Pink Wednesday, July 20. The Pride Walk aims to draw attention to more acceptance for the LGBTIQ+ community in the form of a protest procession. This year we invite everyone to join this pink rainbow procession.

The Pride Walk departs after the official opening of Pink Wednesday at approximately 1:00 PM from St. Stevens Church. We gather under the Stevenstoren, at the rainbow flag. Armed with rainbow flags, protest signs and pink streamers, the procession walks a short route of approximately 30 minutes through the center towards the Waalkade, where the walk will end at the Honey Honey party.

As in previous years, (LGBTIQ+) organizations such as COC Region Nijmegen, Pride Photo Nijmegen, Dito, Amnesty International and various representatives of political parties will participate. This year there is extra attention for LGBTI+ sports associations, because one week after Pink Wednesday the EuroGames take place in Nijmegen.

Dress code: Pink and Rainbow

During the Pride Walk we try to draw attention to the LGBTIQ+ community in a colorful protest procession. So put on your hiking boots, put on your prettiest pink rainbow outfit and applaud and cheer as loud as you can! We call on everyone to make and bring their own protest sign where possible.
