Ozo
The organizers Wim and Sjef met each other in the early 1990s in a café on the Daalseweg in Nijmegen, which was then called Station Oost. They went there dancing every weekend. When that café closed its dance floor at one point, they came up with the idea of organizing dance parties themselves. OZO is an abbreviation of EAST-SOUTH-EAST.
DJ Marcel (Marcel Ravesteijn) is resident DJ of the OZO Dance Parties in Nijmegen. Amsterdam was originally his home base with clubs such as The Sinners, Sneakerz, Paleis Soestdijk and The Bell's Club, where he could regularly be found behind the DJ booth in the 80s and 90s. From there, more than 40 years ago, he brought his soul, funk, disco, dance, house and pop mixes to all corners of the Netherlands, with the east as one of the last corners that remained to be conquered. That's how he ended up at the OZO Dansfeesten, which has built up a special bond with this special DJ over the years. What both have in common is the passion for music. Every time Marcel composes a musical journey in which he takes the audience along. DJ Marcel is an "all-rounder".
His favorite music style is difficult to indicate, but the original funk and soul hits have an edge over the rest. Works by Luther Vandross, The Commodores, Prince and The Doors form the basis of each set. On the Stadseiland he will present a nice mix of Dance and House.
