Black Hat White Hat is folk and alt-country of extraordinary warmth and depth and quality. In their hit City On The River they describe the longing during the lockdowns for long sultry summer party evenings on the Waal. Guitarist Ray Van Haalen and singer songwriter Erik van Oijen (Steve Duke) together with Ray's daughter Lucy Van Haalen make songs that are reminiscent of the work of Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings and Gram Parsons & Emmylou Harris.
