Matteo Myderwyck

In recent years, pianist Matteo Myderwyk was the first Dutch pianist to release music with the renowned international label Warner Classics. His albums Notes of Longing (2021) and Veluwe Suite (2022) were received with praise. Matteo's album was released in the summer of 2023; A brief nostalgia.

He then toured with a complete keyboard arsenal to major concert halls such as the Concertgebouw, Tivoli, De Doelen, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, Musis Sacrum and many festivals. During these Four Days Marches you can come and hear Matteo Myderwyck in a special place and at a special time! On Sunday morning, when the city is still awake and the festivities have not yet started, Matteo plays STEK on a quiet Stadseiland.

Matteo's years of training as a classical pianist at the conservatory taught him above all to leave behind the music of his heroes Bach, Liszt and Messiaen and to find his own musical language. First of all, he decided to throw away all the classical rules. Making music without prior agreements; to have the goal of making music in the moment. This was the most important lesson he learned during this experimental period; music is not written on paper but is made in the moment.
