DJ Joost van Bellen is an icon.

If you study his impressive 35-year career well, you will see the common denominators: love for the night and contrary cultures, the urge to push boundaries, to entertain people and to give something away.

The self-proclaimed disco dinosaur delivered only top sets at festivals such as Lowlands, Milkshake, Pukkelpop, Down the Rabbit Hole, Pinkpop, Solar, Best Kept Secret, Welcome to the Village and Into the Great Wide Open.

In the eighties, Van Bellen laid a foundation for Dutch nightlife with his psychedelic garage punk nights in the Amsterdam squatting scene and his house nights in Club RoXY.
Then followed the years in which he was jointly responsible for the success of UK garage with Speedfreax and the electro scene with his legendary RAUW nights.

His extensive musical knowledge and love for just about every genre make Joost a jack-of-all-trades and an almost all-rounder.
