Eating tomatoes, courgettes and spinach from your own garden? Learn how to set up and maintain a vegetable garden with your child (from 5 to 12 years old). In a 30-minute workshop we teach you how to set up a vegetable garden with a healthy soil and which vegetables you can easily grow. Fun and educational activity for the whole family!

This workshop is provided by the charity of Vierdaagsefeesten 2023: Happy Vegetables . We share a mission with Happy Vegetables for local food production, CO2 reduction, reduction of plastic waste and food waste. Vegetables are grown in an ecological way in their picking gardens. At our request and made possible by our Friends, they are growing extra vegetables for the Food Bank this year, because the only week a year that the Food Bank is closed is during the Four Days Marches, and we take that to heart. This gives people at the food bank access to healthy, locally grown vegetables, grown without artificial fertilizers or pesticides.

In addition, Happy Vegetables teaches children at primary school where their food comes from. They help to start school vegetable gardens and provide vegetable garden lessons.
