WIES

Discover the catchy Dutch pop of WIES with your feet in the sand at Stadseiland Stek. After two sold-out shows in Doornroosje, we enthusiastically welcome the Dutch-language pop trio back to Nijmegen during the Four Days Marches.

WIES is a Dutch-speaking pop trio from Amsterdam, consisting of Jeanne Rouwendaal, Tobias Kolk and Dan Huijser. In addition to influences from alternative rock and electronica, WIES' music is characterized by an unmistakable Do It Yourself mentality. The songs are thoughts about both the big questions in life and the little things that concern a young adult.

The debut album Het Is Een WIES was released in 2021, including the singles Soms Is Het Te Laat, Barman and Meisje. The second album 'Alles Anders' was released in 2023, with which the band delves into depth musically and conceptually. On the record you hear recognizable messages about life and death, joy and sadness, love and pain. In this album, songwriter and frontwoman Jeanne Rouwendaal examines herself and shares a piece of herself in her stories, with which she hopes that the listener in turn feels seen and heard. In this time capsule full of important moments you will hear, among others, the 3FM Megahit and StuBru Catch or The Day Ik Zie Ik Zie. You can also hear the track Liar II on the album; a new sound, but still characteristic WIES.

The band did several tours and performed in sold-out venues such as Paradiso Grote Zaal, TivoliVredenburg and Trix and played at festivals including Pinkpop, Best Kept Secret Concert at SEA, Paaspop and Zwarte Cross.
