UTO x CultuurConfetti

After previous successful editions at Hubert and de Lindenberg, UTO and CultuurConfetti are now joining forces at Stadseiland STEK. In an afternoon full of music, dance and workshops you will experience a journey through cultures, colors and sounds, in which our diversity and solidarity are celebrated. There will be musical performances, a belly dancer, djembe and dabke workshops and at the end DJ Maherrie will take us musically to the Middle East. Expect a dynamic afternoon starring the power of music to transcend boundaries and open hearts. Everyone is welcome!

Stained Glass Painting Workshop on Recycled Glass Jars 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (continuous)
Give your children the opportunity to unleash their creativity and make the world greener at the same time! In the stained glass painting workshop over recycled glass jars, children use acrylic paint to decorate and paint on various recycled glass jars. This workshop not only teaches them how to reuse materials, but also offers the opportunity to experience art and creativity in an outdoor environment. Join us and watch your children's world become more colorful and beautiful, while also helping the environment!

Henna 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM (continuous)
Henna is offered for free at our cultural music festival. It is a traditional art form that involves painting beautiful patterns on the skin, adding a fun and cultural activity to the event.

DJ Santana 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM and 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM
A versatile DJ who brings together Afrobeat, Amapiano, Dancehall, Reggaeton, Ragga and R&B in lively and energetic mixes that set the dance floor on fire.

Djembe workshop by Amara Diabate 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Join Amara's Djembe workshop and discover the rhythm within yourself! Led by an experienced percussionist, this immersive experience invites participants to explore the vibrant world of West African percussion. Whether you're a seasoned drummer or a curious beginner, join Amara for an unforgettable journey.

Belly dancer Patricia 15:30 – 15:45
Patricia provides a dazzling belly dance show in which she brings everyone into the magical atmosphere of a thousand and one nights.

DJ MaHerrie 3:45 PM – 4:15 PM and 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
DJ-MaHerrie brings the best of Arabic and Middle Eastern music to Stek Eiland UTO x Culuur Confetti and adds an extra dimension to the experience. Expect modern and traditional Arabic grooves, including Lebanese and Palestinian #speeddabke, Egyptian top 40 hits, Syrian trap and Oriental sounds.

Open Stage 4:30 PM – 5:00 PM
During the open stage, various performances will take place by musicians from the UTO and CultuurConfetti networks. You will discover who exactly on the day itself.

Javid Ardani on Ney 16:15 – 16:30
Musician Javid Ardani shows better than anyone that music connects. Javid plays the ney, an Eastern classical flute. In the short time that he has been in the Netherlands, he has given several concerts in different countries. Not only in the Netherlands, but also France, Switzerland and Germany. With different groups and individually. He has introduced many people to the special sound of this age-old, traditional instrument.

Dabke workshop 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Join Maher Hajjkaddour and learn the energetic and traditional Levantine folk dance Dabke.
