Ronald Langestraat

Jazz greats at Valkhof Festival, there are a few every year. Usually with the nuance that - just like with so many artists in our program - these are about future greats. But very occasionally we also bring in an established name. Last year we got Han Bennink and René van Helsdingen over the festival meadow, in 2023 it's up to Ronald Langestraat to introduce younger generations to his beautiful music.

Three to four decades ago, this spacy jazz was synonymous with an Amsterdam whose thriving jazz scene brought innovation and wonder with it. A pearl of a concert presents itself!
