Regenboogsenioren Roze Woensdag

On Pink Wednesday there is a special program for Regenboog seniors in the Roze Huis (Sint Anthoniusplaats 1, Nijmegen).

3:00 PM – 3:30 PM music (Susan Menheere)
3:30 PM - 4:00 PM presentation about the pink Nijmegen history (Jac. Splinter)
8 p.m. film “Pride” in Lux

The afternoon program starts at 2 p.m. and takes place in the Roze Huis Nijmegen. There is a music program, a pink story is told and there is a presentation about the pink Nijmegen history.
There is plenty of time to catch up in between and we explore common interests based on art and culture or walking or eating together.

After the program in the Roze Huis we will all go out for a nice meal and at 8 p.m. the film classic “Pride” will be shown in Arthouse LUX especially for the occasion. Mister Senior Pride Clem Bongers will introduce the film.

Content of film “Pride”
During the Gay Pride March in London, a group of gay and lesbian activists decide to raise money to support the miners' families. But they encounter a problem: the union is embarrassed to receive their support. However, the activists are undeterred. They decide to ignore the union and approach the miners directly.

Pride is a typical British working-class comedy in the vein of The Full Monty and Billy Elliot, full of feel-good clichés, shameless sentiment and moralism. The portrayal of the era is convincing, the actors are excellent and the old-fashioned message of solidarity is irresistible.

Costs and registration
The program is organized by the Pink Wednesday Foundation, Stronger Social Work and Arthouse LUX. The program in the Roze Huis and Arthouse LUX is free. Dinner is at your own expense.

It is not necessary to register in advance for the afternoon program. The Pink House can accommodate 50 people. Once we have reached the maximum number, it is no longer possible to participate in the program, so be on time.
