The Mike Stewart Theory (oftewel Mikey2Hats / TexasMike)

Of je hem nu kent als de ervaren producer achter legendes als The Gourds, Doug Sahm, Rockingbirds en The Dead Milkmen, of als de man met de vele hoeden die midden op het podium staat: Mike Stewart is een verhalenverteller met een leven vol kilometers op de teller. Na decennia doorgebracht te hebben in rokerige kleedkamers en studio's van wereldklasse – van Austin tot Amsterdam – heeft Stewart eindelijk "zijn brein opengebroken" om leiding te geven aan The Mike Stewart Theory.

Zijn geluid is een "Too Much Fun"-botsing van psychedelische indietronic, funky 80s- soulgrooves en opzwepende country-rock. Het is muziek die voortkomt uit een leven dat zich afspeelde in tourbussen, gebracht met humor en een knipoog, en voorzien van een flinke scheut levenswijsheid.

Tijdens de optredens in Nederland in 2026 wordt samengewerkt met de jarenlange muzikale samenwerkingspartners Tim Jaspers (Jewel In the Mire; Mustango), Leonicus (Piecetree/Desert Stares) en Aaron Cole (SAAN/Desert Stares).
