De Perifeer x Valkhof Festival

This is the ninth consecutive year that De Perifeer has been invited by Valkhof Festival to provide the program for two evenings in the Valkhof Chapel on the festival site; Tuesday evening, July 16 and Wednesday evening, July 17. Just grab them both, because De Perifeer's line-ups are once again particularly beautiful and stimulating this year. Plus, that location is gold and admission is free! Mikael Szafirowski from Helsinki played for a long time as a founding member in renowned companies such as Rooie Waas, Naked Wolf and ZGB. But during the pandemic, he was forced to reinvent and discover his personal language. His first solo release 'Ferric 90' – released as a cassette on the adventurous Esc.rec, affiliated with De Perifeer. label – served as a platform for that exploration. Here Mikael combines his experiments with sound synthesis and a graceful, mystical approach to the electric guitar with a 'radio play'-like story form. Feel free to consider this concert as a belated album presentation, because it had been missed until now. The cassette in question is of course available at the concert.
