De Perifeer x Valkhof Festival

This is the ninth consecutive year that De Perifeer has been invited by Valkhof Festival to provide the program for two evenings in the Valkhof Chapel on the festival grounds; Tuesday evening, July 16 and Wednesday evening, July 17. Just grab them both, because De Perifeer's line-ups are once again exceptionally beautiful and stimulating this year. Plus, that location is gold and admission is free! Lukraak consists of Marcus Wärnheim on alto saxophone and Thomas Jaspers on drums. Two fantastic musicians who found each other in the drain of the Amsterdam metro and have since done everything they can to create together in the moment. They clink, gurgle and blow with urgency; centered bodies and flying limbs generate sounds that vibrate in space. They combine a visceral rawness with deep listening and careful instrument control. Lukraak uses their musical microverse of collective freedom and radical equality as a means to connect and provoke.
