'Experimental R&B from Ukraine' isn't exactly an announcement you expect - even from Valkhof Festival. The work of the idiosyncratic Zbaraski illustrates the creativity and the pursuit of an own identity that exist in the ravaged Ukraine, also within alternative circles. Zbaraski's summery sound may contrast with the situation in his home country, in times of war celebrating life is more than ever a duty and this artist absolutely knows how to convey that message.
