Headlining evening one of Valkhof Festival 2024 is an ensemble that provides the best possible soundtrack for the opening evening. The catchy and danceable weird funk- cum-Harry Styles-with-a-twist will undoubtedly create an optimal atmosphere in the park.

The name Will Butler will undoubtedly ring a bell for Arcade Fire fans, but this project is not a spin-off. The foursome Sister Squares and Butler form one whole that released a popular debut album last year. There is also plenty of room for lo-fi-like, rather vulnerable songs, sometimes somewhat recognizable for those who already know Butler's work (and that of his brother) well, other times the group takes a completely different path. The diversity and lack of complexity of Will Butler + Sister Squares shows once again how liberating it can be to (re)start artistically with a blank page.
