If there is one scene represented at Valkhof Festival 2024, it is that of South London. In recent years, these neighborhoods in the British capital have produced brilliant acts in multiple genres. The common thread between all these artists is a certain understatement in their sound. Perhaps 'Effigy', the long-playing debut of the band Talk Show, will break with that tradition. This energetic sound is reminiscent of industrial with a hint of The Stone Roses and if there is an understatement, it is a kind of restrained anger that sooner or later must result in a battlefield on the dance floor.
