'Sweating together on the dance floor'
SHAM is the name for the historical region of Syria. SUN means hope. The live act SHAMZON makes music from the Arabic tradition: sparkling, hypnotic sounds with very danceable Western tones. The band was founded in Nijmegen in 2021 by singer/MC Saad Sham with the aim of connecting Eastern & Western music and therefore also everyone on the dance floor. The shows can be compared to DJ sets. Dabke and arab grooves, shouts full of emotion, beautiful sounds of the traditional oud/üd (عود) and further enhanced with electric bass. So a party is guaranteed. Anyone who was there two years ago on the cozy Poort stage knows that this promotion to Bloem closing (on the last evening!) is completely justified.
