Imagine this happening to you: you are an unknown singer with musical ambitions and decide to post covers of songs on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram Live from the safety of your car in 2020. And during one of those live sessions, your big idol shows up to sing along. It happened to 30-year-old SERA from Sliedrecht. With her versions of Dua Lipa's 'IDGAF ' and Megan Trainer's 'NO ', she quickly went viral with hundreds of thousands of views and many new followers.

One of those followers was Justin Bieber, who decided to sing along during SERA's performance of one of his own songs on Instagram Live. This unexpectedly gave SERA's musical career a mega boost . Shortly after, she was approached by the manager of Georgina Rodriguez, the wife of footballer Christiano Ronaldo, and before she knew it, she was flown in to sing at his surprise party . And so she did her first ever live performance just a few meters away from the international football star during an intimate dinner. Scary of course, but an incredible experience. SERA: "That's when I knew. This is what I want to do for the rest of my life."

SERA, a down-to-earth Sliedrecht native with a 'no nonsense, just action' mentality, did not let herself be fooled, not even when her fan base continued to grow rapidly. One of her most popular videos, the Tones and I cover ' Dance Monkey ', even received more than 30 million views. Encouraged by all the positive reactions, SERA decided to make singing her profession. She came into contact with producer and songwriter Bas van Daalen (including Major Lazer, David Guetta and J Balvin), with whom she went into the studio to write her own songs, hired a manager and closed a label deal with Universal Music.

On July 16, 2021, SERA's debut single 'Only Us' was released, a laidback track in which SERA's personality clearly shines through: unpolished, cheerful, disarming and with a lot of good vibes . The song quickly achieved more than 5 million streams. A dream start.

After the success of that first single, a few more songs followed, including 'Head Held High' in 2023, with these songs SERA scored her biggest hit with 31 million streams, and this meant her definitive breakthrough, in the Netherlands but also in Germany. This was followed by hits such as 'Best Friend', 'STAY' with Kriss Kross Amsterdam and 'I Can't Be The Only One' with the German Dance duo YouNotuS.

On September 16, 2024, the long-awaited debut album 'The Journey' will be released. The album tells the story of her musical journey so far! That musical journey has completely changed her life.

2024 was a fantastic year for SERA anyway, because in the fall she participated in the TV program De Beste Zangers. But there was also the release of her duet with Douwe Bob; 'Could Have Been Us'.

In recent years she played several successful club tours in the Netherlands, and played at major festivals such as Pinkpop, Concert@Sea, Dauwpop, and Paaspop and Zwarte Cross. You can't miss her with her live show!
