René Karst

René Karst became addicted to music at a young age. Together with his mother, he formed Duo Karst for many years, a beloved duo in the Drenthe cabaret scene. With no less than 25 albums to their name — one of which was gold — they built up an impressive oeuvre. When his mother left the stage after three decades, René took a new path.

He trades the theatres for party cafés and pirate parties, and makes a big impression with his own style of Dutch party pop. In 2007 he breaks through with Supergave Tijd and becomes a welcome guest at every party. But the real party violence breaks loose with the monster hit Liever Te Dik In De Kist , which he wrote together with Stef Ekkel. The song grows into a true folk classic, good for millions of streams and crazy party tents throughout the country.

René Karst has become an indispensable part of the Dutch party circuit: a true artist with an infectious laugh, a recognizable voice and an inexhaustible mountain of energy.
