Bye bees, bye flowers, bye ice cream. About climate grief and resilience

Hello you, human, what is your relationship with the trumpeter pipefish? The small wartbiter? Or the pale yellow bladderwort? Animals and plants from the red list that are about to disappear forever. Shouldn't we do something about that? Do you miss them when they are gone?

Three actors and a director want to do justice to these disappearing species and try to organize a farewell ceremony for them. But in the meantime they mainly struggle with the question whether they feel anything about it, and then what? Can you actually feel sadness for animals and plants that you have not known? In a musical gathering in the open air they find out. Afterwards they talk to social ecologist Riyan van den Born about the power of imagination, art and science and the approach to the climate problem.

Can you feel sadness for animals you never knew, but whose disappearance does affect our survival? After all, everything is connected. Theater collective Gouden Haas plays fragments from their performance Remember Us and explores this, together with you. Now that we are still here. Remember Us is an attempt to reflect on what disappears unnoticed. But also on the (resilience) power of nature and everything that is still there.

After Gouden Haas has made the problem tangible for us, we will talk to social ecologist Riyan van den Born. Where can art and science help each other? What role does the imagination of the world of tomorrow, or of the past, play in tackling the climate problem?
