De Perifeer x Valkhof Festival

This is the ninth consecutive year that De Perifeer has been invited by Valkhof Festival to provide the program for two evenings in the Valkhof Chapel on the festival grounds; Tuesday evening, July 16 and Wednesday evening, July 17. Just grab them both, because De Perifeer's line-ups are once again particularly beautiful and stimulating this year. Plus, that location is gold and admission is free! Amsterdam musicians Andy Moor (The Ex) and Genevieve Murphy form and build a unique combination of songs, poetry and improvisation. Andy's spontaneous outbursts permeate Genevieve's lyrics and create a deep-seated response to intangible emotions. Genevieve's sound and visuality are intertwined and therefore her 'performance compositions' are both sonic and visual. Disturbing, poetic and recognizable texts that, as it were, offer slices of your head, to show what is happening inside. The voice that 'gives advice from the sky above your head' is a recurring presence in the work of this duo. A voice that explains the need to feel the peak of reality, increasing the tension and unpredictability in their music.
