Familie de Bruyn

Familie De Bruyn has become a household name in the entertainment world. As a trio, the various family members bring the musical living room atmosphere of yesteryear wherever they are booked.

In the fifties Kor de Bruyn, his Mientje and their five children formed the first 'Show Orchestra Family De Bruyn'. With their piano, some kettles and lamps under their arms, they turned all weddings, parties and fairs into a fantastic party. Family De Bruyn always delivered: the concept of playing on request was born!

The success grew, together with the number of orchestra members. At its peak, the family stood on stage with no less than 16 members. The Easter holidays of 1985 were supposed to bring the definitive breakthrough, but the charity project 'Egg for Africa' under the name 'Bruyn Eet' flopped phenomenally. Rightly or wrongly, the large 'Familie De Bruyn' fell apart shortly afterwards due to quarrels.

Fortunately not for long, because in a small group the young De Bruyn scions kept turning up at the cosiest places and they made a name for themselves throughout the country. A number of Bruyntjes are now rightly seen as founders of the contemporary, mega-popular request scene.

Musical blood runs where it wants to go: when family members from home and abroad came together at Grandpa Kor's cremation, the idea arose for a small traveling company, simply under the familiar name.

Just like back then, the household goods are still with us today. With an upright piano, modest drum kit, resounding brass and a few cozy table lamps, Familie De Bruyn turns every festive occasion, big or small, into a musical brown café. And traditionally entirely on request.

The De Bruyn family plays the artists together with three performances per day!
