BEYOND

BEYOND is a dynamic, rousing and at the same time poetic circus and dance performance that explores, challenges and ultimately bridges our limits. Choreographer Piet Van Dycke works with six professional artists in BEYOND, each specialized in a different discipline (ladder walking, acro dancing, acrobiking, partner acrobatics and (pole) dancing). On stage they develop into boundless bridge builders.

Using ladders of varying size and height, players build impressive constructions, such as arch sculptures and rotating cranes. They balance the ladders into an exciting, wobbly playing field. They explore unknown heights, climb, float and dare to perform a daring choreography. Every centimetre and every second counts. They seek out the extremes and discover how far they can push each other. Physical dependence has never been so exciting.

BEYOND is about the vulnerability, absurdity, but also the power of boundaries, and how we can push them by working together. Together we dance on the collective ladders of human imagination.
