RYMe

RYMe is a duo consisting of drummer Youri Meelkop and sound artist Roel Meelkop (yes, this is a family affair ). From quite different musical preferences they forge a mix of rhythms and electro-acoustic sounds, partly composed and partly improvised. Youri's background as a drummer now spans a period of ten years, during which he has developed into a musician with a preference for complex, but funky rhythms. Roel Meelkop has been around for a while, among other things. as a member of various legendary groups (THU20, Kapotte Muziek, GOEM) and also remains active solo under his own name. RYMe has been around since 2021, with each concert building on the previous one. Expect a set where beats, drones and indescribable sounds alternate.
