Karst starts his music career together with his mother, singer Jannie Karst-Dubbelboer. Due to its choice of repertoire, Duo Karst is very well known among emigrants in Canada and Australia. After this long collaboration, René Karst has decided to continue as a solo artist.
In 2007 he released the two singles 'Supergave Tijd' and 'Dat Moet Je Niet Doen', which were taken from his album Supergave Tijd. Many more singles will follow, including 'I Want to Be 20 Again' and 'Never Om De Liefde Cuilen'. His second album Hellup was released in 2011. In May 2016, he wrote the mega hit 'Liever Te Dik In De Kist' together with fellow singer Stef Ekkel.
